Parking and Access    Printer Friendly Version

The Lakeside Avenue entrances to the Huntington Park Garage behind the old Court House have been closed to the public. The only entrance and exit from the garage is from West 3rd Street.

Non-key card parking is limited at the Huntington Garage, so please allow extra time to arrive for Court proceedings at the Justice Center and the old Court House. Limited media parking along the side of the Huntington Park driveway remains.

Where is the Justice Center?

The Justice Center encompasses a city block in downtown Cleveland bounded by Lakeside Avenue, West 3rd Street, Ontario Street, and St. Clair Avenue. The Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court is located in the 24-story Courts Tower at the corner of Lakeside and Ontario.

For more information about the Justice Center, please watch the video.

Due to recent construction and downtown renovations, the amount of parking spaces surrounding the Justice Center has been reduced. While parking is available within a few blocks, the prices can be steep. Here are some options to consider:

The Huntington Parking Garage (attached to the Old Court House). While this is close, it can be expensive. The garage does not open until 7:30am and spaces are limited.

There is a large parking lot off of West 3rd and Summit labelled "Warehouse District Parking" just north of Lakeside Ave. The entrance (blue arrow) is under the Shoreway. You will need to walk a few blocks, but the cost is relatively low.

RTA: You may want to consider riding the bus or using the rapid trains. The trains disembark a few blocks away at Tower City. A number of bus routes stop right outside the Justice Center. For RTA route information, click here for www.riderta.com.

Trolleys: RTA provides free trolley service around downtown Cleveland. You can park farther from the Justice Center, and then use the free service. For a map of the trolley stops, click here.

There are also a number of public parking garages within a few blocks.

There are three public entrances to the Justice Center, and all require security screening

The main entrance off Lakeside Ave.

The secondary entrance off of Ontario St. This usually has a shorter line, but that depends on the time of day and demand.

Entrance from the Huntington Garage. This is through a walkway that goes under Lakeside Ave.

What should I leave home?

Even if you are licensed for a conceal-carry weapon, you will be arrested if you try to bring a gun into the Justice Center. Only law enforcement personnel are allowed to be armed.

Any items that could be considered weapons. This includes, but is not limited to, pocket knives, knitting needles, letter openers, box cutters.
