Re-Entry Court

Re-Entry Court

April is Second Chance Month, which gives us the opportunity to showcase the transformative power of redemption and the importance of helping individuals rebuild their lives after incarceration. Second Chance Month is built on the foundational belief in the capacity for growth and change within every person, regardless of their past mistakes or missteps. This month is a reminder to embrace a more compassionate approach toward those who have been justice-involved, recognizing that rehabilitation and reintegration are essential components of a fair and just system.

The Court is highlighting Judge Nancy Margaret Russo and her work with the Re-Entry Court. Judge Russo created the docket in 2007, and the program is now a model for other courts to follow. Judge Russo sat down for an interview about the docket and its history, and we welcome you stream it below via our Court’s YouTube page.

Ultimately, Second Chance Month embodies the spirit of forgiveness, hope, and second chances.
