Employment Opportunity - Coordinator – Pro Bono Civil Legal Assistance Program9/5/2018

This is an unclassified position that serves at the pleasure of the Court. This position will be dedicated to the Common Pleas Court Specialized Dockets and will work extensively with the Specialized Docket judges and Common Pleas Court staff. The Court is establishing a program to recruit and implement a team of pro bono attorneys to assist defendants in one of the above dockets in the criminal justice system ("clients") with a myriad of civil legal issues that fall outside the scope of representation by the defendants’ criminal legal counsel. This purpose of this program is to identify and address those civil legal issues that impact defendants’ lives, thereby increasing the likelihood that criminal defendants complete the required criminal case-related sanctions, clinical treatment milieu and improve their overall quality of life. This Coordinator position will be responsible for recruiting, referring, matching and managing the team of pro bono attorneys to accomplish the program’s goals.

This is a grant-funded position. If grant monies are reduced or eliminated, this position could be terminated. Proof of education, employment and references will be required before final interview. The Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas requires submission to a criminal history background check and drug testing prior to employment. Valid Ohio Driver’s License is required.
