Deputy Court Administrators Honored

Deputy Court Administrators Andrea Kinast and Chris Russ were among 40 court professionals honored on Friday, August 23, as they received national recognition as Certified Court Managers.

The graduation ceremony at the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center’s law library in Columbus closed a three-year Court Management Program (CMP) for the class. The curriculum, available through the National Center for State Courts Institute of Court Management and the Ohio Supreme Court’s Judicial College, addresses detailed operating procedures for courts.

Justice Judith L. French offered keynote remarks to graduates and their guests, as did the Court’s Judicial College director Christy Tull and the Court’s new administrative director, Jeff C. Hagler.

“I commend you for the effort you’ve put into this course over the past few years,” Hagler said. “I see us as partners in providing the essential support to the system. So when you call the Supreme Court with an issue, I don’t see it as your problem. It’s our problem.

“While our perspectives may differ based on where our courts sit, we’re still on the same team,” Hagler said.

Congratulations to Andrea and Chris!
