Judge Michael Russo Joins Commercial Docket
Cleveland: Judge Michael J. Russo has begun serving a three-year term on the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Commercial Docket.
Judge Russo is a former prosecutor who also dealt with complex insurance and commercial litigation during the 12 years he practiced at Ulmer Berne. Judge Russo has served on the General Division bench since 2003, where he has overseen numerous civil and criminal matters.
The four Judges on the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Commercial Docket hear cases involving business-to-business disputes, including liquidations, trade secret disputes, non-compete contracts and shareholder disagreements. The docket is designed to resolve such cases more quickly, while establishing consistence and expertise among the docket’s judges.
The Cuyahoga County Commercial Docket also includes Judge Nancy A. Fuerst, Judge Maureen Clancy, and Judge Cassandra Collier-Williams.
The Commercial Docket Program is available to Ohio counties with either six or more general division judges, or populations exceeding 300,000. Establishing a Commercial Docket is up to each individual court.
Judge Russo replaces Judge Joseph D. Russo, who completed a three-year term on the docket on July 1.
