Judge Sheehan Sworn In As OCPJA VP
Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Administrative and Presiding Judge Brendan J. Sheehan was sworn-in as first vice-president of the Ohio Common Pleas Judges Association on December 1, 2021.
The OCPJA is a representative organization of Ohio’s Common Pleas Court Judges. In addition to interfacing with the Ohio’s courts, and the legislative and executive branches, the OCPJA holds semi-annual conferences for its members.
The OCPJA was created to promote an interchange of experience and suggestions regarding the operation of the judicial system as it pertains to the Common Pleas Courts of Ohio. The Association also considers and recommends, for appropriate action, suggestions for the improvement of standards, practices, and effectiveness of such courts.
The current OCPJA president is Judge Robert Hickson of Morrow County. As first vice-president, Judge Sheehan will be in line to become president in three years.
“The OCPJA is critical to the administration of justice in our state,” says Judge Sheehan. “The ability to share ideas and information is key to our shared success, and it has never been more important than during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Judge Sheehan and the other OCPJA officers were sworn-in by Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor at the organization’s winter meeting in Columbus.
