Rhys Tucker Hired As Deputy Chief Probation Officer
The Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court General Division is pleased to announce that Rhys Tucker joined the Court as Deputy Chief Probation Officer on January 3, 2022.
Tucker comes to the Court from the Bedford Municipal Court, where he has served as Chief Probation Officer for more than ten years. Tucker has a degree in Applied Criminology and Criminal Justice and a Masters of Arts in Education, both from Walsh University.
"I am humbled and honored to join the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court’s Probation Department. Working alongside such a dedicated group of professionals is something that I am very excited about. Together I am confident that we will continue to encourage positive change in the lives of offenders,” says Tucker.
As a Deputy Chief Probation Officer, Tucker will work with Chief Probation Officer Maria Nemec and fellow Deputy Chief Probation Officer Tammy Sherman to manage the Court’s Probation Department and its more than 200 employees. This includes the development of policy, coordination of the department’s budget, and some personnel decisions.

Sheehan. “His more than 13 years of experience in the trial court system will serve him well in this role, and we know that Rhys will bring great ideas and enthusiasm to our Probation Department.”
Rhys Tucker is also a Certified Court Manager and Certified Court Executive through the National Center of State Courts. He replaces Deputy Chief Probation Officer Stephania Pryor, who retired at the end of 2021 after more than 30 years with the Common Pleas Court.
