Judge Sheehan Sworn-In As OCPJA Chair
Columbus: Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Administrative Judge-Elect Brendan J. Sheehan was sworn in December 3, 2019, to a two-year term as the fourth vice-chair of Ohio Common Pleas Judges Association. Judge Sheehan has previously been involved in the OCPJA as a trustee and officer.
The OCPJA is a representative organization of Ohio’s Common Pleas Judges. In addition to interfacing with the other Ohio courts and the legislative and executive branches, the OCPJA holds semi-annual conferences for its members.
The OCPJA was created to promote an interchange of experience and suggestions respecting the operation of the judicial system as it pertain to the Common Pleas Courts of Ohio. The Association also considers and recommends, for appropriate action, suggestions for the improvement of standards, practices, and effectiveness of such courts.
Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor swore in Judge Sheehan during a ceremony in Columbus.
Judge Sheehan also has had an active role in the Ohio Judicial Conference and currently is the co-chair of the Public Confidence and Community Outreach Committee, which promotes activities that instill public confidence in the Ohio judiciary by helping judges educate the general public about the function and operation of the state's judicial system.
