Settlement Day 2019
(Cleveland) –Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court hosted its annual Settlement Day on Thursday, October 17, as part of the Court’s Settlement Week.
Organized by the Court’s Dispute Resolution Department, Settlement Day seeks to clear as many cases as possible during the Court’s business hours. 30 of the 60 scheduled cases were settled with the help of 13 volunteer mediators.
Dispute Resolution Administrator Rebecca Wetzel says the department handles disputes requiring Arbitration, Mediation, Business Mediation and Foreclosure Mediation.
On Settlement Day, ADR schedules as many hearings as possible and invite attorneys to volunteer to mediate the cases. ADR provides donuts and coffee in the morning and sandwiches during the lunch hour.
