The Saffold Family Legacy
Cuyahoga County Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold joined our Bench in 1995, after serving eight years on the Cleveland Municipal Court. In 2022, her son Jeffrey Saffold was elected to the Common Pleas Bench, and started in January of 2023. In January of 2024, daughter Sydney Saffold became a judge for the Cleveland Municipal Court after winning her fall election.
2024 is Judge Shirley Saffold's last year on the Bench. With retirement approaching, she sat down for a Black History Month interview with her two kids to discuss the family's legal legacy. It's the first time all three have taken part in one interview.
